Founder and President
Babi Ahluwalia was born into a close and creative entrepreneurial family in Hyderbad, India. Her parents nurtured her imaginative and independent spirit, and urged her to follow her passion to attend school in New York City, and pursue a career in the fashion industry.
Attending the world-renowned Fashion Institute of Technology, Babi studied Textile Development & Marketing, it was then she began the journey that would result in her very own version of the “American Dream”. While at school she met Sachin Ahluwalia, the man that would one day become her husband, business partner, and father to their two daughters. After graduating they launched what is now Sachin&Babi, the successful luxury label known for its elegant occasion dresses, bridal and ready-to-wear collections, as well as design partnerships with some of the most exclusive Fashion Houses in both couture and ready-to-wear.
Her latest venture, The Good Kloth Company, of which she is the President and Co-founder is significantly different from the label that bears her name. As an entrepreneur and mother with close ties to her NYC community, she had long wanted to endeavor upon a project that was purpose-driven and one that made a tangible difference in the lives of individuals on a larger scale. With the onset of the global pandemic, Babi was inspired to co-found Good Kloth and use her fashion, textile, and technology resources to bring a new and innovative product directed toward workforces, and those individuals deemed essential with a new antimicrobial surface technology that would be applied to uniforms across industries. She looks forward to creating a new space in the wellness world that recognizes antimicrobial bio-textile technology as a supplemental measure to increase the safety and health of our communities.
